Hyrox Event Calendar 2026–2027

Hyrox events run year-round across North America, Europe, Asia-Pacific, and the Middle East. This is the reference for every major race region - when they typically happen, how to register, and which events are best for first-timers.

📅 Always check the official site first. Events get added, dates shift, and venues change. The authoritative calendar lives at hyroxworld.com/events. This article gives you the strategic framing; that page gives you the live data.

How the Hyrox season works

Hyrox events run on two parallel cycles:

  • Regional cycles - local events run year-round in each region
  • World Championship cycle - qualifying events feed into the annual World Championships (typically June)

For most athletes, regional events are what matter. World Championships qualification requires top-percentage finishes at qualifying events.

North America events

US events are the fastest-growing in the world; Canadian events are smaller but established.

Best events for first-timers

If you’re racing your first Hyrox, prioritize:

Best for first-timers (US)

  • Chicago, Dallas, Atlanta - large fields, strong infrastructure, warm crowds
  • Tampa, Miami - winter-friendly weather; beach race-cation potential
  • Vegas - combination weekend trip + race

Best for first-timers (Europe)

  • London, Manchester, Birmingham - large UK fields with English-speaking organizers
  • Berlin, Hamburg, Munich - well-organized German events; Hyrox heartland
  • Amsterdam - accessible from anywhere in Europe

Avoid for first race

  • World Championships (qualifying-only)
  • Outdoor pop-up events (rare; harder for first-timers)
  • Very small events (under 200 athletes; less infrastructure)

Registration timing

Hyrox events typically open 5-6 months before race date. Major events sell out fast:

  • London, Berlin, Singapore: sometimes sell out within hours of opening
  • Major US events (Chicago, Dallas, NYC): sell out 2-4 weeks after opening
  • Mid-tier events: 1-2 months
  • Newer / smaller events: still available 1-2 weeks pre-race in some cases

Strategy: sign up for the official Hyrox newsletter. They announce registration windows ~2 weeks before opening. Early registration also locks in lower entry fees.

Choosing your race date

Strategic considerations beyond just “when can I make it”:

Climate

  • Avoid summer races in hot/humid cities if you don’t acclimatize well
  • Embrace winter races if you train in mild climates and want venue energy without heat

Travel

  • Domestic races easier for first-timers (no jet lag, no logistics complexity)
  • International races for race #2+ when you’ve got the format dialed

Time-of-year fitness

  • Spring races require winter training (indoor → indoor; usually fine)
  • Fall races require summer training (heat acclimatization opportunity)
  • Winter races require autumn taper (some athletes peak well here)

Recovery from prior race

  • Allow 8-16 weeks between races
  • Multiple races in same year is fine if they’re spaced

How to find current events near you

  1. Go to hyroxworld.com/events
  2. Filter by region/country
  3. Sort by date
  4. Click event for details (date, venue, registration link, current spots)

Other event resources

  • Hyrox official newsletter - announces new events first
  • Local affiliate gym - your gym may have inside info on demand for nearby events
  • r/Hyrox subreddit - community discusses upcoming events
  • IG hashtags like #hyrox{cityname} - see who’s racing what

Pro tip: build a 2-3 race annual schedule

For athletes treating Hyrox seriously:

  • Race 1: main goal race (16+ weeks of dedicated prep)
  • Race 2: 8-12 weeks later, lower-stakes (test improvements; experiment with pacing)
  • Race 3 (optional): doubles or a fun race-cation

Don’t try to race every Hyrox in your region. Recovery + sharpening cycles need space.

Travel logistics for race weekends

If you’re traveling to your race:

Book hotel within walking distance of the venue

Avoid Uber surge prices on race morning. See city guides for specific hotel recommendations:

  • Chicago hotels
  • Dallas hotels
  • Atlanta hotels
  • Boston hotels
  • Tampa hotels

Pack shoes in carry-on

Never check race shoes. Lost luggage = ruined race.

Arrive 1-2 days before race

  • 1 day if same-time-zone domestic
  • 2 days if jet lag is a factor (3+ time zones)
  • Pre-race dinner the night before; don’t try unfamiliar restaurants

Plan post-race

  • Rest day after race
  • Don’t book a 6am flight home race-day
  • Recovery meal + walk before flying

Race-day backup plan

Always have a contingency plan. Common race-day curveballs:

  • Wave time gets moved - Hyrox occasionally adjusts wave times day-of
  • Equipment changes - verify weight/standards at registration check-in
  • Unexpected delay - bring a snack to the venue; don’t go cold for 3+ hours

The Hyrox Training Logbook includes race-day prep pages that travel with you. Slip it into your race bag - pre-race pacing strategy, kit checklist, post-race debrief.
